XVI International Colloquium “Mechanical Fatigue of Metals” will be organized by the Institute of Physics of Materials ASCR in hotel Continental in Brno.
Brno is the second largest city of the Czech Republic, historical capital city of Moravia and the centre of South Moravian region. Brno has over 400 thousand residents, three large Universities, number of the Institutes of the Academy of Sciences and recently Central European Technological Institute. Brno is also the seat of the Constitutional Court, the Supreme Court, the Supreme Administrative Court, and the Supreme Prosecutor's Office. Brno Exhibition Centre ranks among the largest exhibition centers in Europe and Brno is also known for hosting big motorbike races on the road racing Masaryk Circuit. Brno has numerous important historical sites among them Cathedral of St. Peter and St. Paul, Spilberk Castle and the functionalist Villa Tugendhat which has been included in the UNESCO list of World Heritage Sites.
Brno is surrounded by a pleasant nature like the Moravian Karst and the vine region of South Moravia.
The event will take place in congress premises of hotel Continental which is situated in a quiet part of the town, close to the historic centre. Hotel is easily accessible by various types of public transport.

The official language of the Colloquium is English. All presentations and posters must be submitted in English.
Conference fee:

Regular participant 320 EUR
Student 200 EUR Accompanying person 150 EUR after 30. 6. 2012
Regular participant 370 EU
Student 250 EUR Accompanying person 150 EUR Conference fee for a regular participant and students includes book of abstracts, CD (ISBN 978-80-87434-05-5) containing full contributed papers, participation on oral and poster sessions, welcome drink, lunches, coffee, concert or theatre, excursion to South Moravia wine district and conference dinner. Accompanying persons will not obtain book of abstracts and CD with contributed papers. If the paper is not accepted by Scientific Committee and the author decides not to participate the conference fee will be reimbursed. In cancellation from other reasons the conference fee minus handling fee 50 EUR will be returned provided the cancellation reaches the conference secretariat before 1st September 2012.

Two possibilities to pay the conference fee are offered:

Participants who would prefer to pay the conference fee using credit or debit card should inform the conference secretary (ICMFM-16@ipm.cz).
They will obtain full information on the details of a particular payment by e-mail.
Accommodation:
The organizers offer a possibility of accommodation in hotel Continental, the venue of the Colloquium. Conference participants will receive special, reduced rates. (Single standard room cca 50 EUR). For detailed information, please contact the hotel directly. In order to get reduced rate refer to: ICMFM-XVI.
Publication:
Book of abstracts and CD (ISBN 978-80-87434-05-5) with full texts of papers will be available to the participants at the onset of the conference. Selected papers will be recommended for publication in international journals.
Abstracts and papers:
The acceptance of abstracts and papers will be judged by the Scientific Committee. The Scientific Committee will decide whether the paper will be presented as oral or poster. Book of abstracts and CD with full texts of papers will be available to the participants at the onset of the Colloquium. Selected papers (in extended version) will be recommended for publication in international journals after the conference.
INSTRUCTIONS: Instructions how to prepare the abstract (1 page), paper (maximum 8 pages) and the presentation (either in oral or in poster version) can be found with templates on the Web site of the Colloquium as PDF file or MS WORD file. SUBMISSION: Please submit your abstract and paper (in both Microsoft WORD and PDF format) to the conference secretary Dr. J. Man via e-mail to:ICMFM-16@ipm.cz in due time (see Important dates). The multimedia projector and notebook will be provided in the lecture hall. The presentation should be prepared in MS Power Point or PDF.
